The EU took my birthday away

from Ars Technica:

The EU has been unhappy about Microsoft's [failing to comply with antitrust settlement obligations] since March of last year, and had finally set a date of January 25, 2006 for final compliance [after which MS would be fined 2,000,000 euros per day of additional noncompliance]. With that date approaching, though, Microsoft claimed that it still needed additional time, and the EU has granted an extension until February 15. At that point, assuming the date is not changed again, Microsoft must be declared in compliance by the Monitoring Trustee or face the daily fine.

That was gonna be the bestest birthday present I ever got. :'(
