Someone said to me today, "I guess that new movie is like, the prequel for the James Bond stuff?"

I stared at him in horror. "Um, you mean Casino Royale? No. It was the first book. Ian Fleming wrote that before all the others."

I mean for christ's sake. Dude's my age. He should know better.

You're too young to read books, didn't you know that?

:-)

I'm surprised at the number of people that dont recall the spoof of this one with Woody Allen as "Jimmy Bond".

oh I remember it all too well. Personally I think as a spoof it sucked but that's just me.

I'm well aware Casino Royale is the first book... and the new movie looks like it might revive the Bond name in my eyes. Away from the silliness and the "we're just doing this to just make another" to a "we're serious about this and it's going to be back to what it was"

I hated Die Another Day, if you can't tell. I hated The World Is Not Enough with fucking Denise Richards as a bond girl. Tomorrow Never Dies I didn't have a problem with, and Goldeneye was good... but seriously, the last two have sucked.
