Funny, I don't remember voting to invade anybody

How can we have a government "of, by, and for the people" when politics is a CAREER, not a duty?

When all the governmental decisions are made by people who do nothing but govern, how can we think of them as anything but a separate ruling class?

When they start deciding that the "commoners" shouldn't have guns, shouldn't have accurate information on what's going on, and should be coerced into making the decisions that the "politerati" want made, what are the people who are busy actually being PRODUCTIVE and SUPPORTING THEMSELVES supposed to do about it?

I can fight City Hall. I can move out of state, if the state becomes too oppressive. But when something as massive as the US Federal Government starts deciding to press its heel down, what the hell am I supposed to do?

Upon review, it has come to my attention...

... that I wind up selecting gangsta rap titles for effect in the "Currently Listening To" section of my LJ entries considerably more often than I'm actually listening to gangsta rap.

This should probably tell me something Deep and Meaningful.

... if anybody figures out WHAT deep and meaningful thing it should be telling me, please, lemme know.
